This 3-hour training teaches specific, practical psychological first aid skills for use before, during, and after an emergency or disaster.
The training has been adapted to be relevant to all members of a Neighborhood Network Empowerment HUB.
- Understand the common reactions to disaster.
- Practice practical self-care skills to prepare psychologically, increase your resilience, manage stress, and reduce the effects of trauma before, during, and after an emergency.
- Learn communication skills to connect quickly with survivors and increase adherence to recommendations.
- Know specific techniques to use for common difficult survivor reactions.
